What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, also known as BJJ is a martial art and combat sport system that focuses on grappling and ground fighting, using joint locks and chokes to force an opponent to submit or tap. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu came to prominence under the Gracie family when Royce Gracie effectively used Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to win multiple UFC Championships and even defeat larger opponents who were practicing other styles!

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper technique and taking the fight to the ground and then applying joint locks or chokes to defeat the opponent.
Where are the BJJ lessons conducted?
Our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lessons are conducted at our Fighter Fitness Singapore branch located in Pioneer (Jurong West) in the west side of Singapore.
Why should I learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Fighter Fitness Singapore?
Our friendly Brazilian Jiu Jitsu partner instructor Christian Rodrigues is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt who is currently coaching at Jiu-Jitsu Lab and is a United World Wrestling Level 1 Coach. He is a veteran competitor who has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2010, and has travelled, trained and competed around Asia. He is a patient and encouraging Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor who will explain techniques in detail to his students.
Fighter Fitness Singapore’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program is also affiliated with Jiu-Jitsu Lab, a BJJ only gym that was started by Vinc Tan, who became the first Singapore to be handed his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black belt on the home soil of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, in Brazil RJ, and who has also trained in Brazil and USA at some of the top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies in the world.
During our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, basic techniques like the armbar and basic positions like the guard or the mount will be taught, as well as escapes and counters to these techniques, followed by drilling on the techniques taught. 3-5 minute rolls (sparring sessions) will also be conducted at the end of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class to allow students to practice what they learnt on their partners and complete their learning experience. Specific conditioning exercises will also be conducted during our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lessons to improve students’ fitness levels when sparring.
At Fighter Fitness Singapore, we also place a strong emphasis on safety in all our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lessons. Proper warm-up exercises will be done to prevent injury during our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lessons, and you will be under supervision during the rolling (sparring) sessions.
